Sussex County. Smoke from Canadian wildfires blanketed Sussex County on Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7. Readers shared their photos and experiences with the paper.

    Kathryn Kula shared this photo of hazy skies over Jefferson Township High School. She said the smoke gave her a headache and nausea.

    “Everything just seems really weird,” said Chris Wyman, who took this photo of the sky over Barry Lakes on June 7. “This morning we watched the sun turn red and then disappear and our poor dog Burt keeps watching the woods like he expects aliens to be coming down the trail.”
