By Sophie Mann For Dailymail.Com,

Twenty-one teenagers were injured in Surfside Beach, Texas , when a section of the boardwalk at Stahlman Park gave way Thursday.

The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm at the beachside park.

Pictures after the collapse show that a large piece of wood from the ramp that appears to connect the boardwalk to the beach had fallen in on itself.

Several Life Flight helicopters were dispatched to the scene; three were seen landing near the park.

According to local outlet The Facts , the injured were part of a large group at the beach, who were all wearing matching yellow T-shirts.

Bayou City Fellowship leaders confirmed the group of teenagers aged 14-18 were from fellowship summer camp.

Emergency Medical Service crews from Surfside, Freeport, Oyster Creek, Clute and Lake Jackson were all called to help treat the injured, according to local reports.

Law enforcement officials were seen inspecting the area after it had been cleared.
