Celebrate the Sun Prairie library at gala event

The Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation is hosting its annual spring gala with several interactive and engaging stations throughout the library.

The Love Your Library Gala on Saturday, April 20, from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Sun Prairie Public Library at 1350 Linnerud Dr. will host a live cooking demo with Chef Patrick DePula of Salvatore’s, a live art demo with Rebecca Kautz, live music from Rodrigo Villanueva Trio, interactive gaming, podcasting, and a library historical walk.

International street food is on the menu, also provided by Salvatore’s. Tickets are $60, and this year on-site childcare is also available for $10/child with their own food, drinks and activities.

“Can you believe the library is 25 years old?? It’s time to celebrate and highlight the 123 years of storied history of library service to our community, while showcasing exciting changes to come with the expansion and renovation project,” says Theresa Stevens, Executive Director for the Sun Prairie Public Library Foundation. “This will surely be a fun and lively event for all who enjoy and appreciate the library.”

SPPLF is excited to bring the gala back to the library one more time before construction commences.

“This is a great time to celebrate all we have accomplished, while continuing to work towards the future. We have a couple of surprise announcements that you don’t want to miss, this is definitely a must-be-in-attendance type of event.” added Stevens.

The Foundation is working to raise $3.5 million to support the upcoming Next Chapter Expansion & Renovation Project. A silent auction and paddle raise with a twist will all go towards the efforts to reach its goal.
