Fire truck and flag (2020)

Using a hook and ladder truck with a U.S. flag, the Sun Prairie Fire Department on Friday July 10, 2020, marked the two-year anniversary of the July 10, 2018, natural gas explosion that killed Sun Prairie Fire Dept. Capt. Cory Barr and leveled five buildings.

Five years have passed since an explosion on Main Street changed Sun Prairie’s downtown forever, but certainly, it has not been forgotten.

The Sun Prairie Media Center (SPMC) has announced the release of “Sun Prairie Stronger”, an hour-long documentary honoring the fifth anniversary incident on July 10, 2018.
