Monday, May 15

Vehicle Burglary

Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle burglary on West Kilby Road. The owner of the vehicle called the police when he went to his car to leave for work this morning, but several of his power tools were missing. His car was parked on the street, and he stated his vehicle was locked. However, there was no visible damage to the vehicle. There are no suspects at this time.

Wednesday, May 17

Weapon Offense

Deputies were called to Swaner Preserve, where they found the suspect sitting in the back of his Jeep Grand Cherokee, pointing a rifle out of the window directed at the Preserve. Contact was made with the suspect, and it was discovered to be an air rifle. His vehicle was searched after a positive indication from K9 Spike, and a letter belonging to another person was located in the car. He was booked on two separate charges.

Thursday, May 18

Possession of Methamphetamine

A blue F-150 truck was pulled over by deputies on SR-224 for a lane violation. Upon contact with the driver of the vehicle, she was found to have an active no-bail warrant. The driver was arrested, and a subsequent search of her person revealed user amounts of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The vehicle was left with the registered owner and passenger of the vehicle, and the driver was booked on two separate charges.

Friday, May 19

Possession of Methamphetamine

Deputies stopped a vehicle on highway SR-224 for a registration violation. During the course of the stop, a narcotics K9 was deployed. The K9 conducted an exterior narcotics sniff, and alerted deputies to the presence of a narcotic odor. A search of the vehicle revealed user amounts of methamphetamine, and the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Summit County Jail without incident.

Warrant Arrest

A traffic stop was conducted on highway U.S. 40 near exit four. A records check of the vehicle revealed two no-bail warrants from the Heber City Police Department for theft. The sole occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody and transferred to Heber City Police without incident. The suspect’s vehicle was released to a friend per her request.

Sunday, May 21

Pursuit

Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operating without insurance on highway SR-224. The vehicle fled the scene and a high-speed pursuit followed. The pursuit led Deputies from SR-224 onto I-80 westbound, then the vehicle left the roadway near 135 I-80 westbound where it came to a stop. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. The male was taken into custody after a taser deployment prevented him from crossing over a high wildlife fence. After being evaluated and cleared by medical personnel he was booked into the Summit County Jail and was booked on five separate charges.
