Sullivan continues recovery with federal assistance

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — On Thursday the city of Sullivan was joined by state and federal officials to update the community on the continued recovery efforts.

Officials reminded impacted residents that June 14 is the last day to register for federal assistance. Sullivan mayor Clint Lamb said the city has ordered a complete survey for the impacted area.

He stresses that the survey will solely be done as a service to property owners and what people decide to do with their property is up to them.

Mayor Lamb also expressed his gratitude to everyone who has helped Sullivan’s recovery and shared this message for the road ahead.

“Long-term recovery, we needed your help on March 31st, April 1st. We need your help today. We’re going to need your support, and love and assistance, for several months and possibly a year to come,” Lamb said.

Impacted residents can register for federal assistance in several ways. They can visit the disaster recovery center at Sullivan City Hall. They can go online to the Disaster Assistance webpage, call 1-800-621-3362, or they can use the FEMA app.

Again, the last day to register is June 14.
