MMG Sports Performance Center’s Turf Building Is Now Open
OWINGS, Md. – It was a packed house Saturday as MMG Sports Plex, located at 7630 Meadow Run Lane, Owings, MD, finally opened its doors to the public. It’s been a long road, but the turf building is officially open for business, with turf fields and batting cages available from 10 am – 9 pm, and by appointment only outside of those hours.
Baseball loses to Georgetown 13-5 in DMV showdown
Baseball (23-17, 6-6 A-10) fell to Georgetown (27-13, 8-4 A-10) Tuesday night in a 13-5 loss, unable to climb out of an early 12-run hole. Georgetown came out swinging in the District showdown, registering five runs in the second inning and adding seven more in the third to quickly surge to a 12-0 advantage in the first three innings. Notably, the Hoyas only notched one more hit than the Revs, 10 compared to nine, but two walks and a GW error bringing in two runs helped to give Georgetown the win.
New Route 7 shared-use path featured in upcoming ‘Tour de Hunter Mill’ bicycle ride
The annual Tour de Hunter Mill bicycle ride will kick into full gear early next month with new routes designed to show off sights and amenities throughout the district. Registration is now open for the fourth iteration of the May 5 community bike ride, which was introduced in 2021 by Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn.
