“I’m glad that they saw potential in me and decided to invest in not only me but my future,” Reid-Edwards said Monday. “And I hope to do great things as a Flying Fleet!”

Shaun Freeman committed to Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, where he also will play volleyball on a scholarship. He is the son of Crystal Freeman and Sherrick Freeman.

“I signed with Hood because they are in one of the most competitive division with some of the top teams in the nation,” Freeman said Monday. “I wanted to be able to play against those top teams.”

Freeman also praised Coach Gatling for her work with him and players on the team at KFHS.

“I wouldn’t have made it to where I am without Coach Angie — how much she pushed me,” he said. “Her talks about hard work and dedication is what also helped me never give up.”

Gatling added that she is proud of both Reid-Edwards and Freeman.
