Nansemond River High School Career & Technical Education Marketing Teacher Candace Credle has been honored as the 2024 Virginia Association of Marketing Educators (VAME) Teacher of the Year. In addition to this esteemed recognition, she has been appointed as the new VAME Region 4 Director.

The Virginia Association of Marketing Educators (VAME) is dedicated to maintaining active professional leadership in promoting Marketing education at local, state, and national levels. It provides a forum for the study and discussion of issues related to Marketing education and encourages the development of programs that enhance and broaden the scope of Marketing within Virginia’s educational framework.

VAME functions as a professional group within the Marketing division of the Virginia Association for Career and Technical Education (VA ACTE) and is affiliated with the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), the Virginia Education Association (VEA), and the Marketing Education Association (MEA).

With over a decade of experience as a business strategist, Credle combines her passion for education and business to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and excellence. In the classroom, she fosters a nurturing and inspiring environment where every student can reach their highest potential.

Reflecting on her achievements, Credle acknowledged, “All that I am, all that I do, and all that I have is because of God. This honor wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of my husband, family, mentors, and the outstanding administration team at Nansemond River High School and Suffolk Public Schools.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming school year, Credle says she is eager to serve in her various roles, including NRHS Marketing Educator, VAME Region 4 Director, DECA District 21 Advisor, NRHS DECA Advisor, NRHS Co-Senior Class Sponsor, and NRHS Ladies of Distinction Site Coordinator & Director of Administration.

She added, “I’m focused forward. I look forward to an amazing year filled with growth and new opportunities.”
