Suspect At Large After Teen Shot In North Bay Shore

A 17-year-old was shot in a late-night shooting on Long Island that injured him and another person, according to authorities.

The incident occurred on Sunday, May 28 at approximately 12:10 a.m. in North Bay Shore, the Suffolk County Police Department reported.

The two victims, a 17-year-old boy and a male acquaintance, were standing on the corner of Benton Place and Pine Acres Boulevard when the gunshots hit them.

The teen was struck two times and needed to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

His acquaintance was grazed by a bullet but refused medical attention, police said.

At this time, the identity of the shooter is unknown.
