Inside Mississippi State's surprising recruiting success at this Tennessee high school
Since his mom is a Mississippi State graduate, it only came natural for Gavin Hampton to grow up a massive fan of the Bulldogs. Riverdale's (Murfreesboro, TN) senior quarterback grew up making frequent trips to Starkville and became a die-hard fan at a young age. He loved the school so much that he reclassified from the 2028 class up to the 2027 cycle on June 15, took an official visit to Mississippi State on June 19 and announced his commitment to the Bulldogs that day. "It's great because I'll have two built-in friends when I get there," Hampton said. "I'm really excited to continue this bond and continue our journey as teammates. Sutton has been my best friend since first grade so it's great to have him particular along with me on this journey. "We're going to do great things down
