NH Seacoast, southern Maine to see rain for much of rest of the week
Those along the New Hampshire Seacoast could see soggy weather through much of the week, forecasters said. A slow-moving warm front is expected to move across New England on Tuesday, Sept. 1, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region, according to the National Weather Service . The first bout of rainfall from Tuesday, Sept. 1, to Wednesday, Sept. 2, is set to drench New Hampshire south of the Lakes Region, NWS said. However, the most widespread rainfall is expected late Wednesday, Sept. 2, into Thursday, Sept. 3. "The northern extent of the rain remains a bit uncertain as moisture will be fighting against dry high pressure to the north," the NWS office in Gray, Maine, said in an online forecast discussion . The highest rainfall totals this week are expected in southwestern New Hampshire, with amounts in the 0.5-inch to 1 inch range, the forecast discussion said. While most of the week could be a washout, fear not – the weather is expected to turn sunny ahead of the long weekend.
