Driver Killed In Overnight Crash With Box Truck: Maryland State Police

An investigation has been launched by Maryland State Police following a fatal two-vehicle crash on Tuesday night.

Chauncey McKinley Johnson, 54, of Stockton, was killed after being struck by a box truck that shut down Route 113 in Berlin for several hours, according to a state police spokesperson.

Shortly after 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, troopers from the Berlin Barrack responded to Route 113 near the intersection at Groton Road, where there was a report of a Kia Forte that was struck by a box truck at the intersection.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Route 113 was temporarily closed as a result of the crash as police investigated and cleared the scene. It is unclear what caused the two vehicles to crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
