Worcester County man dies in two-vehicle crash on Route 113: Police

A 54-year-old man died Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash on Route 113 in Worcester County.

Maryland State Police said troopers from Berlin Barrack responded to the crash shortly after 11:20 p.m. on Route 113 at Groton Road near Pocomoke.

According to a preliminary investigation, a box truck was traveling north on Route 113 when it crashed into a Kia Forte, which was traveling west on Groton Road, state police said in a release.

The driver of the Kia, identified as Chauncey McKinley Johnson, 54, of Stockton, Maryland, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, who was not injured, remained at the scene.   

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
