Alabama police bust drug distribution after 6-month investigation

HOLLYWOOD, Ala. (WDEF) — After a six-month-long investigation, the Hollywood Police Department busted a large-scale drug operation. An extensive amount of drug activity was coming from one residence in Stevenson, Alabama.

Officials said the residence was distributing to most of Jackson County, as well as surrounding areas.

Investigators obtained a search warrant on Tuesday.

Officers deployed their K9, Athos, who assisted in the recovery of methamphetamine.

The police department said they seized 1.3 pounds of meth. They also seized equipment being used to package and distribute the meth.

In addition, officers seized controlled substance pills, drug paraphernalia and almost $10,000 in cash.

Hollywood Police said they also recovered a stolen jet ski, six vehicles and a camper. The department said they will file for seizure of the house as well.

The Hollywood Police Department said they will be making arrests as the investigation continues.
