Lady Eagles drop one spot in latest UPSSA volleyball poll

STEPHENSON — After spending two weeks ranked No. 2 in the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association poll, the Stephenson girls volleyball team dropped one spot in the latest rankings released Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles and Rudyard have been tied for the No. 2 spot in the past two editions of the UPSSA Division 4 volleyball poll, but this week’s edition has Stephenson ranked No. 3, while Rudyard claims sole possession of the No. 2 slot.

Ironwood also slipped one spot, dropping from No. 4 to No. 5.

No. 1 Forest Park continues its reign atop the rankings for a third consecutive week.

Carney-Nadeau moves back into the poll at No. 4 after dropping out a week prior. The Lady Wolves were ranked No. 5 in the inaugural vote.

In the Division 1-3 poll, Calumet and Kingsford flip-flop positions, with the Copper Kings overtaking the Flivvers for the No. 1 spot.

No. 3 Manistique and No. 4 Hancock remain idle this week, while Jeffers and Houghton are tied for the No. 5 position.
