STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — About $2.6 million in watches and cash were reported stolen in the burglary of a store in Tottenville on Memorial Day, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

The incident reportedly occurred on Monday around 5:15 p.m. at the Wrist Watcher at 4864 Arthur Kill Road, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Unknown suspects entered an office and removed the safe, ransacked the business and destroyed the surveillance camera system, the police spokeswoman said.

There were signs of forced entry on an office door, according to police

The safe contained about $160,000 in cash and about 150 watches were taken valued at $2.2 to $2.5 million. The total haul is estimated to be around $2.6 million, according to the source with knowledge of the investigation.

No arrests have been made and a description for the suspects is not yet available, the police spokeswoman said.

The company’s website indicates that the store buys and sells high-end watches, including Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille and Patek Philippe.
