Man, 54, punched in face by unhinged stranger on Staten Island: cops

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who punched a 54-year-old man in the face on Staten Island last week.

The victim was standing near the intersection of Beach Street and Water Street in Stapleton Heights around 1 p.m. on May 21, when he was approached by the unidentified attacker, officials said.

The man started yelling at the victim and then punched him in the face before fleeing on foot, according to authorities.

Emergency responders brought the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for bleeding and bruising.
