WCC Graduate Named NC State Goodnight Scholar
Wayne Community College Associate in Science graduate Cooper Emory of Kinston has been named a Goodnight Scholar at North Carolina State University. Emory is one of 50 students selected for the Goodnight Scholars Program’s transfer class of 2027. He graduated from WCC this spring and will attend NC State in the fall.

4 killed, 2 hurt when car hits guardrail; driver died while trying to stop traffic
Four people died and two others were injured late Saturday after a vehicle struck a guardrail on a North Carolina highway, authorities said. One of the fatalities was the driver, who survived the crash but was struck and killed while trying to stop traffic.
