Stanford coach hints at a flood of commitments following massive recruiting weekend

The Cardinal hosted a slew of recruits over the weekend and it appears to have gone well

Over this past weekend, Stanford hosted what was one of their at least three upcoming official visit weekends.

Notable recruits such as four-star offensive tackle Ellis Davis, four-star receiver Emmett Mosley, a pair of Florida State commits in EDGE Dylan Stephenson and B.J. Gibson, and most notably Mater Dei quarterback Elijah Brown were all on the farm. In total there were at least 12 official visitors, as Troy Taylor and his staff are in the process of rebuilding the once juggernaut of a program.

While Taylor was working against time in assembling the 2023 class due to his deep run with Sacramento State in the FCS playoff, he and his newly assembled staff are looking to hit the ground running. This past weekend was proof of that, and it may also be proof how attractive playing at Stanford will become under Taylor. Based on social media posts by running backs coach Malcolm Agnew and Director of Recruiting & Player Personnel Preston Pehrson, the weekend went quite well.

It started with Agnew tweeting a series of emojis on Saturday, which Pehrson quoted with a Josh Hart gif that showed him holding up a five. However, the Twitter shenanigans and subtle hints at possible commitments didn't stop there. Agnew tweeted at Pehrson on Sunday asking "How many we at?" to which Pehrson responded with a Friends gif saying seven.

Stanford's 2024 class currently ranks as the No. 58 class in the country with just four commits, but clearly this Weeknd of recruiting went well for the Cardinal as that number is rising quickly.

The Cardinal could use some big news in recruiting, as much of their offseason has been clouded by the large transfer exodus and how many starters they will be replacing.

Taylor and his staff are going full speed ahead in both the transfer portal and recruiting, which should have Stanford fans very excited for the future.
