Deputies arrested a Stafford man after a brief standoff in a Walmart parking lot after a concerned citizen called the Sheriff’s Office.
On March 26th at approximately 10:18 p.m. deputies responded to Walmart, located at 217 Garrisonville Road, for a call of possible drug activity. The caller advised a man was actively huffing while in the driver’s seat. When deputies arrived on scene, they located a man in the suspect vehicle currently holding an aerosol can. Deputies quickly recognized the 30-year-old suspect as Michael Kingham, due to priors with him huffing and driving, and a crash he caused last year with a school bus on Brooke Road.
Kingham appeared under the influence when first conversing with deputies. He later became extremely uncooperative when asked to step out of the vehicle. After a standoff of Kingham not wanting to leave the vehicle, the suspect was removed from the vehicle. Located within the vehicle, deputies found eight empty aerosol cans.
Kingham added to his pending three charges. He was charged with public intoxication, inhaling drugs, driving while suspended, and obstruction of justice with force. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
