NYS Thruway Authority director speaks out after crew member hit, killed in Monroe County
Chili, N.Y. (WHAM) — Flags across the state were flown at half-staff Monday, in honor of a New York State Thruway Authority worker killed last week. Vincent Giammarva was struck and killed by a tractor trailer on Interstate 90 Thursday afternoon while setting up a work zone in Chili, according to police. Mark Vara, another Thruway worker, was hit and remains in critical condition.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A Batavia Mexican restaurant owner is planning another expansion into the Buffalo market, with plans to open at the Walden Galleria. Señor Leon Mexican Restaurant will take space at the former World of Beer location, which closed at the Galleria in early 2021 after a seven-year run.
