Motorcyclist dead, passenger injured, after colliding with a deer in St. Clair County

BROCKWAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A 54-year-old man is dead, his passenger injured, after a collision with a deer while riding his motorcycle Saturday night.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department was called to the area of Yale and Arendt Roads in Brockway Township, west of Yale in the thumb region, around 11 p.m. That is where they found Jody Johnson and his 51-year-old female passenger, who were both riding on the 2001 Harley Davidson Sportster.

Johnson was pronounced dead on scene. The woman was taken to McLaren Lapeer with serious injuries.

Yale Police Department, Tri-Hospital EMS and Brockway Twp. fire assisted at the scene.

The St. Clair County accident investigation team was called to the scene and continue to investigate.
