A Mountain Home man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident near Springfield late Sunday night.
Thirty-two-year-old Austin Cain was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened when Cain swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, his car went off the roadway, struck some trees and overturned.
The accident occurred two miles north of Springfield on U.S. Highway 65 at 10:58 Sunday night.
