A Springfield man who was on federal probation for drug offenses is back behind bars on new narcotics charges.

Springfield police were executing a search warrant late last week at a home on South Douglas Avenue and observed 41-year-old Mario Oliea leaving the residence. He attempted to take off in a vehicle but was detained.

Police then searched the vehicle and found nearly 92 grams of cocaine where Oliea had been seated. Inside the residence, they found an additional 3700 grams, or more than eight pounds, of cocaine with a street value of $129,000.

They also found 328 grams of cannabis, along with digital scales, packaging materials, and recovered an unknown amount of U.S. currency in a secondary search of a home on Pickfair Road.

Oliea is being held on $300,000 bond.
