Two arrested in connection with Springfield shooting that left one injured

Two people have been charged in connection with a shooting in Springfield that left one man injured.

The victim was shot twice in that early morning incident on March 15 in the 11-hundred block of Fayette Avenue. His injuries were not life-threatening.

After investigation, police have arrested 31-year-old Jared Staake of Beardstown on charges that include armed violence, attempted armed robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. He’s being held on $500,000 bond.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Chelsie Bounds of Girard was also arrested in connection with the incident.

She’s being held on $100,000 bond on charges of aggravated battery and attempted armed robbery.
