BLAINE, Minn. — A Blaine woman and her family will be featured in Amazon Prime's new six-episode docuseries, "Take Me Out Feet First." The docuseries follows individuals advocating for end-of-life options.The series was created by New York City native, Serene Meshel-Dillman, who was inspired to make this docuseries after she witnessed both of her parents end their lives in the comfort of their home. Public forum to honor Prince and address opioid crisis held in Minneapolis
Since Prince’s tragic death due to an accidental overdose of fentanyl on April 21, 2016, the number of fentanyl-related fatalities in the U.S. has increased by 400%, and communities of color are being hit hardest by this epidemic. Here in the North Star state, for example, Black Minnesotans are more than three times as likely to die from an “opioid-involved overdose” as white residents. And members of Minnesota’s Indigenous communities are being poisoned to death at approximately 10 times the rate of whites.
Artisan Home Tour features Wayzata stunner
Nearly two dozen of the Twin Cities' most incredible new and remodeled homes will be open for exploring over the next two weekends as part of the Artisan Home Tour. The homes stretch all the way east to Afton, south to Prior Lake and west to Independence. Home No. 5 on the tour is in Wayzata and boasts a Beauty and Beast two-story library plus several secret doors, one of which leads to a home theater. The homes are open from noon-6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through June 23rd. The four remodeled homes are open on the final weekend only. Tickets are required ahead of time to enter the homes and can be purchased online, at the door or at Bachman’s.
