Spotsylvania Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management says crews responded Tuesday afternoon, just after 12:30, to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1800-block of Stoney Creek Drive.
On arrival, units found a two-story residence with the back of the home completely involved in fire, with flames rapidly spreading into the rest of the dwelling.
Crews quickly began to extinguish the fire and conduct a search of the home. Because of the extensive amount of fire spread in a majority of the house, it took approximately 25 minutes to bring the incident under control. No occupants were home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
