Rail baseball at Cumberland for doubleheader this Friday

SPOONER — The Spooner Rails baseball team had a busy week on the diamond, beating the Oredockers at Ashland 7-3 on April 16, falling 11-2 to Hayward on April 18 and then losing 5-3 at St. Croix Falls on April 19.

Spooner currently sits at 4-5, and coach Josh Villella and his Rails have a busy week coming up.

On Monday, April 22, the Rails hosted the Ladysmith Lumberjacks in Heart O’ North action. Tuesday, April 23, brought the Chetek/Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs to town for a battle with the Rails.

On Friday, April 26, Spooner will be on the road for a doubleheader at the Cumberland Beavers. The first game will get underway at 3 p.m. Game two of the day is set to begin at 5 p.m.

The Rails come back home for a non-conference contest on Monday, April 29, starting at 5 p.m. Spooner will host the Grantsburg Pirates.
