Gonzaga recruit Zoom Diallo on transfer to Prolific Prep: 'It's hard. I am leaving my family behind'

Diallo is Gonzaga's top class of 2024 target

Zoom Diallo has officially entered a different stratosphere.

After leading Curtis High School to back-to-back Washington high school boys basketball state championships, the 6-foot-4 point guard and coveted Gonzaga recruit vaulted to the top of his class.

Now a five-star recruit and the No. 9 player in the class of 2024 according to 247Sports, Diallo has decided to transfer to Prolific Prep in Northern California for his senior season. SBLive Sports got an exclusive interview with Diallo at Curtis' summer league game on Friday, his first public comments since the news broke about his transfer.

"It's hard. I am leaving my family behind," Diallo told SBLive Sports. "I'm leaving close friends, close supporters behind. I am leaving the chance to become the all-time leading scorer at Curtis behind - possibly becoming the first McDonald's All-American here and the shot at a (4A title) three-peat," he said.
