SCSO hoists missing hiker

SPOKANE, Wash. — A lost mushroom picker in Boundary County was rescued by a Spokane County Sheriff's Office helicopter Saturday morning when he was found three days after going missing.

Boundary County Sheriff, Dave Kramer, reported that the lost mushroom picker, Bourathaphon Inthanthanya from Redding, California, is on his way to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution.

“We are so grateful for the dedication and hard work of our county volunteer Search and Rescue Team and all those who supported the team during this search”, Kramer said.

Inthanthanya had been missing since Wednesday evening when he did not arrive at an agreed upon destination to meet with the rest of his foraging group.

The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office and Boundary County Search & Dive Rescue was assisted by search aircraft from Flathead County, Montana and Spokane County.
