This week in Calhoun County, West Virginia, there were four incidents of note. A 67-year-old man died in an ATV crash on Daniels Run Road in Millstone. An altercation between two young men occurred at Baker's Mart in Grantsville and later escalated at Grantsville Foodland. The cause of death for a 29-year-old found dead in Arnoldsburg has not been determined yet. Lastly, Lilly Marie Knopp was arrested for identity theft charges.

A rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer led to a diesel leak in Spencer, West Virginia.

In a complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Calhoun by Trooper J.D. Richards, he stated that on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, shortly after midnight, he observed a tan Chevy pickup traveling at 47 miles per hour in the 40 mph zone in Arnoldsburg. He initiated a traffic stop at which time the truck swerved to the left side of the roadway, sliding on gravel and kicking up a fair amount of dust. He then came to rest near the Family Dollar Store in the 400 block of Arnoldsburg, WV.

In a complaint filed in Calhoun Magistrate Court on September 25th, 2023, Trooper J.D. Richards stated that on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at around 1:40 p.m. in the afternoon, he was made aware of a male at the address of 1249 Road Fork Road in Big Springs, Calhoun County that was involved with property damage to the residence and vehicle owned by Julia Elizabeth Bettis. Trooper Richards and Sheriff Graham Knight traveled to the scene where Kyle Blattert was on the porch of the residence.
