Spencer, IA (KICD)– The final bell of the academic year rang Wednesday afternoon for Spencer Community Schools with staff gathering to recognize colleagues for years of service and those entering into retirement.

Superintendent Terry Hemann tells KICD News the leadership seen through all of the staff withing Spencer Schools is exactly what is needed in today’s world.

The school year was originally set to end last week, but a couple of make up days had to be added because of the ten snow days accumulated during the winter, the most Hemann has seen in his time as a district leader.
