Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Spencer Memorial Day Program will be returning to the community for the 59th year on Monday to help remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.

In past years, the program has originated from Riverside Cemetery with an alternate location available in case of inclement weather, but Post Commander Frank Lehman from the Spencer VFW tells KICD News this year’s events will automatically be inside the Larry M. Untiet Theatre at Spencer High School.

The program will begin at ten o’clock Monday morning starting with the Call to Order, an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Multiple other communities around the local area will also be hosting Memorial Day programs again this year. Exact times and locations can be found on the Community Calendar.
