A North Carolina man is facing charges after an armed robbery at an Upstate store. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to the Citgo Corner Mart on Chesnee Highway in Spartanburg, just before 5 PM Thursday.
The clerk was able to provide valuable info about the suspect and surveillance footage of the robbery. A Sergeant from the Sheriff's Office later spotted the suspect at the Red Roof Inn on Jones Road. The suspect identified, as 24 year old Isaiah Martin Quimby of Charlotte was arrested without incident.
Investigators say, Quimby confessed to the robbery. All the money taken in the incident was recovered, as was a gun that had been stolen in the Charlotte area. Quimby is charged with armed robbery, possession of a stolen pistol and a weapons violation.
