A Spartanburg man is dead after drowning in an Upstate lake over the weekend. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit and SCDNR personnel responded to High Falls County Park on Lake Keowee near Walhalla, Saturday evening.

The Sheriff's Office says, a group was on a boat in a cove, when a child swimming in the water went into distress. A man jumped into the water to help the child, but the man never resurfaced.

The body of the man identified as 35 year old, Caleb Emmanuel Cohen was found around 8:45, that night. Investigators say, foul play is not suspected and Cohen's manner of death has been ruled accidental.
