A crash claimed the life of a driver in Spartanburg, according to Spartanburg Police Department.Police say that the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. on Friday on Baltimore Street near Wofford Street, but officers have not determined the time of the crash. According to police, a 2009 Ford Focus was headed south on Baltimore Street toward W.O. Ezell Boulevard when they jumped the sidewalk and struck a tree.The driver of the Ford Focus, the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene, and no other vehicles were involved, police say.The Spartanburg Coroner's Office has identified the driver as Rashida A Wright, 39, of Spartanburg.The coroner says that Wright died around 4:45 a.m., and SPD is in charge of this investigation.
