VICTIM AS 83 YEAR OLD JUDITH COLEMAN. BREAKING NEWS OUT OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY. TROOPERS HAVE RELEASED NEW INFORMATION ON A CRASH THAT LEFT A WOMAN DEAD. TROOPERS SAY IT HAPPENED YESTERDAY EVENING AROUND 5:00 ON HIGHWAY 296 NEAR MCCABE COURT. THEY SAY A NISSAN CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AND HIT A CHEVY HEAD ON A PASSENGER IN THE NISSAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BUT DIED. THE CORONER IDENTIFIED THE VICTIM AS PENNY CUDD. ANYONE?

The South Carolina Highway Patrol has reported a head-on crash that killed one and sent three people to the hospital.Troopers say the crash happened Tuesday on S.C. 296 near McAbee Court, four miles west of Spartanburg. According to troopers, a 2019 Nissan sedan was headed west S.C. 296 when the driver crossed the center line and hit a 2021 Chevrolet sedan head-on. The driver of the Chevy was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment, according to troopers.Troopers say the driver and two passengers of the Nissan was injured and taken to the hospital but the driver succumbed to her injuries. According to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger, his coroner's office responded to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, where they identified the woman as Penny Leigh Cudd, 45, of Greer. Clevenger says Cudd was pronounced dead Tuesday shortly after 7 p.m.
