SCHP: 19-year-old charged in deadly hit and run crash in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said a pedestrian was hit and killed early Tuesday morning.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 19-year-old driver from Union was heading west on South Pine Street around 12:18 a.m. when they hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street.

The pedestrian, who was identified as 36-year-old Anthony Devaughn Allen of Roebuck, was pronounced dead on scene.

Troopers said the driver, identified as Kelvin Dawan Hall initially left the scene but was arrested the same day and booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

Hall was charged with deadly hit and run.
