Two storms will keep the weather unsettled through Easter Weekend. Storm #1 moves through quickly Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning. Expect Sierra snow and road controls, especially above 7,000'. The second storm will move to the coast on Friday and will linger in the region through Easter Sunday. More Sierra snow is expected, with snow and rain showers for valley locations at times. Next week looks dry and much warmer after Tuesday. -Jeff.

The Road Ahead: 1st Street Rehabilitation Project Underway
SPONSORED: The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County and Sierra Nevada Construction, Inc. are making improvements along 1st Street in downtown Reno. Crews are replacing the pavement from the Sierra Street Intersection to Virginia Street. They’re also going to make improvements to the sidewalks, curb and gutter along that stretch, replace the traffic signals at the Sierra Street intersection, improve drainage, and replace a Truckee Meadows Water Authority water main. This work should improve the overall safety in that area.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The City of Reno is asking for input on public art in the city. The survey, which can be found here, is part of the city’s Public Art Master Plan. Residents will be asked to give feedback on the future of art in public spaces in The Biggest Little City.
Firefighters Knock Down Garage Fire
Firefighters successfully put out a garage fire on Sunday afternoon. Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue firefighters responded to Oregon Boulevard in Lemmon Valley. They say there was minimal smoke damage and no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Chain Controls on I-80, High Wind Restrictions Through Washoe Valley
As a winter storm moves through the Sierra, chain controls and high wind restrictions have been put in place on a few area roads. Chains are required on I-80 from central Truckee to Rainbow Road, as well as on State Route 88 in California from five miles west of Picketts Junction to Bear River Drive.
