Accident causes delays on I-35W Northbound

On Saturday evening, the Burleson Police Department received a call about suspicious activity within the city limits. Two units were dispatched and searched for the suspects and the activity.

The search led the officers to I-35W Northbound from Wilshire Blvd/State Hwy 174. As they traveled along I-35W, according to a sergeant from BPD, the officers encountered a traffic accident just before the entrance ramp from Garden Acres Drive.

While no further details were immediately available, the accident closed all but the far left lane of I-35W Northbound, causing extreme delays on the service road. Traffic there had accumulated beyond Avant Texas Health Huguley Hospital.

Also responding to the crash were Fort Worth Fire Department Truck 42, MedStar Ambulance Service, and Fort Worth Police Department who cordoned off the closed lanes.

Involved appeared to be a silver sedan, a black SUV, and a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer.

A Fort Worth officer on-scene was only able to state that the accident was being worked by the Burleson officers and that FWPD was assisting since the incident occurred in their jurisdiction.
