Detroit man, 'Mike X,' convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, heroin
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 43-year-old Detroit man was convicted Tuesday of conspiring to distribute cocaine and heroin in Michigan. Allegedly, Joseph McNoriell, also known as "Mike X," worked with others on June 2, 2022 to deliver two kilograms of cocaine from southeast Michigan to Lansing, according to U.S. Attorney Mark Totten.

Freeze warning issued overnight for Southeast Michigan
(CBS DETROIT) - Temperatures will be freezing cold in the early portions of the day on Thursday in Southeast Michigan. Expect clear skies, calm winds, temperatures around freezing, and wind chills in the mid-20s during the early morning hours. A freeze warning will be in effect from midnight until 8 a.m. on Thursday for all of Southeast Michigan. High pressure and sunshine will take hold of the region on Thursday. While temperatures will begin below freezing, high temperatures will warm into the mid-50s by Thursday afternoon with sunny skies. Southfield City Council approves third marijuana retail site
SOUTHFIELD — In a 5-2 vote, the City Council approved a third recreational marijuana retail facility in Southfield April 15. Councilman Daniel Brightwell, supported by Councilman Lloyd Crews, made the motion to approve Cloud Opportunity’s special use request and site plan to build and operate a one-story recreational marijuana retailer on 1 acre at 28610 Northwestern Highway. Councilmembers Charles Hicks and Nancy Banks voted no.
Metro Detroit sinkhole to be repaired after sewer collapse
(CBS DETROIT) - Crews are set to repair a sinkhole in an Oakland County community Wednesday following a sewer collapse, city officials said. The sinkhole is located on Willits between Chester and Greenwood. City officials investigated the sinkhole on Tuesday, April 23, and determined it was caused by a 12-inch sewer collapse. The collapse caused a surcharge to flow into the catch basin that leads into the Rouge River, city officials said. The surcharge is less than 100 gallons, according to city officials, and crews installed a bypass to contain the overflow. Birmingham's contractor will complete the repairs on Wednesday.There is no threat to public health, and Birmingham "is in compliance with its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination permit," according to city officials.
