Just down the block from his former Detroit house, a beaming Otis Williams helped tug a rope to reveal a commemorative city marker bearing his name. Otis C. Williams Street was unveiled Saturday afternoon in a festive ceremony saluting the 82-year-old Temptations founder, who, at one point, choked up as he absorbed the latest honor granted to him by the city where his musical journey took flight.
Heat wave leads Roscommon Zoo to close Monday
A northern Michigan zoo closed Monday amid extreme heat conditions in the state. The Roscommon Zoo closed Monday in light of this week's heat wave. Metro Detroit faces the summer's first heat wave this week, with temperatures in the uppers 90s, cooling to the 70s overnight. The emergency heat brings a risk of heat-related illnesses for humans and animals, including heat stroke and heat exhaustion.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Enjoy free movies outside this summer at Detroit's Movie Nights in the D. On Wednesday, movies will be shown on the big screen at Campus Martius all summer long. The movie series kicks off at 7 p.m. June 19 with "The Color Purple" for Juneteenth. On some movie nights there will be giveaways and live entertainment before the films start.
