Smoke from wildfires burning in northern Michigan and Canada cause hazy sky in Michiana

The sky over Michiana was milky and hazy Monday. Northerly winds aloft brought smoke from wildfires burning in northern Michigan and Canada to Michiana.

The smoke could cause a vibrant sunset Monday evening. The sunset time in South Bend on Monday, June 5 is 9:16PM EDT.
The smoke will linger Monday night into Tuesday, but it should not be as thick. The smoke should be gone by the middle of the week.
