SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) —
A nice surprise for two South Bend students just in time for summer.

Priority Risk Management gave two Monroe Elementary School students bikes today.
That was a prize for not only competing in the school's reading program but reading more books than anyone else.
"Well, yes, when we first showed the students the bikes, we went around to the first-grade classrooms, and we showed them the bikes that they had a chance to win and if you've been here back in the fall to see the excitement and the joy on their face you want to say it was all worth it," said Brian Harris, Monroe Elementary School Principal.
The two first graders both read more than 200 books this year.

The principal says this is just another way to encourage kids to read.
