10 p.m. Update:
The person injured in the single-motorcycle crash on the bypass has died.
She's from out of state and her identity is being withheld until her family is notified.
The bypass reopened about three hours after the first crash.
Original Story:
Northbound traffic on the U.S. 31 bypass is being diverted because of two crashes between the Brick Road exit and Adams Road.
South Bend Police responded to a serious crash involving one motorcycle in that area before 2:10 Saturday afternoon. Their condition isn't known at this time.
As traffic began backing up, a two-vehicle crash happened about a half mile south of the motorcycle crash. There were injuries involved in the two-vehicle crash, but they don't appear to be life threatening.
The bypass reopened at about 5 p.m. this afternoon.
