Notre Dame Visit Was An "Amazing Experience" For Linebacker Dominik Hulak

Star 2025 linebacker Dominik Hulak recaps recent visit to Notre Dame

During the Pot of Gold offer event on St. Patrick’s Day, Notre Dame offered 2025 Elmhurst (Ill.) Immaculate Conception linebacker Dominik Hulak. He was one of the several Illinois natives who were offered then, a part of a really talented 2025 group right in Notre Dame’s backyard.

On Saturday, Hulak made the trip to South Bend. From the practice, campus and conversations with coaches, the visit was a massive success.

“The visit went great,” Hulak said. “I really liked it there

“I really loved watching practice as it was very similar to ours at Immaculate Conception and I loved watching the linebacker drills to see how I can improve myself,” he continued. “I also loved the campus. It was an overall amazing experience.”

The conversations with the coaches, however, was the most memorable part of the trip for Hulak. His ability to talk to them, get to know each coach and talk ball was paramount.

“The conversations were great,” Hulak explained. “Actually being able to talk with Chad Bowden and Coach (Al) Golden in person, rather than over the phone, and then with Coach (Marcus) Freeman was awesome. I was able to learn a lot from all of them and what they saw me as.

“I was able to talk to Coach Freeman during practice on the field and ask him a few questions and he's a really great guy,” Hulak continued to explain. “I also had a meeting with Coach Golden with just my family and I and I was able to learn about him and he told me how I would be able to fit into their defense as a hybrid on the line and off the line linebacker.”

Hulak went into this visit knowing a lot about the Irish program due to growing up so close to South Bend. It was the people behind the Notre Dame program, the coaches and recruiting staff, that really made the major impact on Saturday.

Hulak is starting to garner interest from several Midwestern programs. Some of his notable offers include the Fighting Irish, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois and Iowa State so far. Several other programs are also keeping close contact with Hulak.

The 6-3, 232-pound athlete was a key performer for the 13-1 Class 3A state championship squad as a sophomore. In total, Immaculate Conception outscored its opponents by a margin of 617 to 151 en route to winning the team’s last 12 games of the season.

The Illinois native did his biggest damage on the defensive side of the football. Hulak collected 57 total tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack. He also had two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and a blocked kick.

On offense, Hulak also had a role as a tight end. He failed in eight receptions for 133 yards and two touchdowns through the air. That is an average of 16.6 yards per receptions. Hulak also ran the ball once for a 12 yard gain.
