Notre Dame Exceeded Expectations For Elite Tight End Jaden Reddell

Top Missouri tight end Jaden Reddell enjoys tremendous weekend at Notre Dame

With spring practice beginning for the Notre Dame program, the staff is starting to have a flurry of talented recruits on campus to join in the excitement. On Saturday, it was the first major recruiting day of the spring so far.

Among the talented recruits on campus, Peculiar (Mo.) Raymore star tight end Jaden Reddell was one of the biggest headliners. The Missouri native has quickly become a priority recruit for the Irish staff.

According to sources close to Reddell, this visit could not have gone much better. The coaches, specifically, really made an impact on the talented pass catcher this weekend.

“We had a great time,” the source told Irish Breakdown. “Everyone that we met and talked to were wonderful.

“Coach (Gerad) Parker and Coach (Marcus) Freeman exceeded my expectations,” they continued. “Coach Parker was wonderful.”

Could Reddell see himself as a fit with the program? There was no question about it leaving the campus. From all vantage points, the Notre Dame staff really gave the Reddell family a lot to think about.

“The campus was beautiful,” the source said.

“It’s a very unique place,” a different source added. “There is no question that it is a place where people can thrive, and Jaden would be able to as well.”

As it currently stands, this feels like a Notre Dame versus Alabama battle for a Reddell commitment, although things can always change quickly in the recruiting world. One thing is certain, the Reddell family wants the decision to be a well thought out one without much impulse. There will be no decisions made out of emotion.

“We won’t let him commit prior to June 1st,” they said. “I want him to make a decision based on the facts and not emotions. We want him to make a decision and stick with it.”

The Raymore-Peculiar star is coming off of a dynamic junior campaign as the team’s top pass catcher. On the season, Reddell would haul in 49 receptions for 1,002 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 20.4 yard per reception average is big evidence for just how much of a big play threat Reddell is.

Reddell is considered a four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform, sitting currently as a top 100 overall player nationally by both On3 and ESPN. On the On3 ranking, the Missouri native is pegged as the No. 31 overall player and No. 1 tight end in the 2024 recruiting class. 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 56 overall player and No. 4 tight end in the class on their ranking. In all, three different platforms have Reddell pegged as a top 100 overall recruit.

The 6-4, 225-pound pass catcher already boasts an elite offer list. Some of the notable programs who have offered include the Irish, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Auburn, Nebraska, Iowa, Kentucky, South Carolina, Louisville, Illinois. Missouri, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, and Kansas among others.

Notre Dame already holds a commitment from Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic standout tight end Jack Larsen in the 2024 class. The Irish staff is interested in bringing in a second tight end in the class and Reddell is one player that they are very high on.
