Walmart on Portage Road to close in April

The Walmart on Portage Road in South Bend will be closing by April 21.

According to Walmart officials, the decision is based on several factors, following a careful and thoughtful review process.
“We are grateful to the customers who have given us the privilege of serving them at our Portage Road location. We look forward to serving them at our other stores in the surrounding communities and on walmart.com,” said Felicia McCranie, Director Corporate Communications, North and East Business Units.

Officials say that all store associates will be eligible to transfer.
