Senator Carozza talks benefits of annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake
SALISBURY, Md.- Senator Marybeth Carozza was at the annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake Wednesday in Crisfield which is in her district. Senator Carozza said it’s always an exciting day for the City of Crisfield and Somerset County. She praised legislation passed earlier this year that established an improved retirement program for the Crisfield Police Department.

A coastal flood warning remains in effect until 6 AM EDT early this morning for Dorchester, Wicomico, and Somerset Counties. The warning predicts up to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. This widespread flooding poses an elevated threat of property damage to homes and businesses located near the waterfront and shoreline. The water level is expected to be 1 to 2 feet above ground level in certain areas, leading to road closures and potential damage to homes and businesses. Flooding will also extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays, resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles. The time of high total tides is estimated to the nearest hour. In Cambridge, Maryland, the tides are categorized as minor at 3.5 feet, moderate at 4.0 feet, and major at 4.5 feet in mean lower low water (MLLW). In mean higher high water (MHHW), the categories are minor at 1.5 feet, moderate at 2.0 feet, and major at 2.5 feet. Similar tide categories and measurements apply to Bishops Head, Maryland, and Crisfield, Maryland.
